Ian C. Keefe

Ian C. Keefe brings over 12 years of civil and administrative litigation experience. His practice focuses on labor and employment law, including preventative advice and counseling.

Ian represents employers in municipal labor and employment matters, focusing on traditional labor relations, including collective bargaining, contract administration, representation matters, and unfair labor practice charges. Beyond traditional labor matters, Ian advises employers in numerous aspects of employment law, including discipline and termination, discrimination, harassment and retaliation issues, and leave management. Ian is well-versed in preventative practices and works with employers to conduct internal investigations and to deliver trainings. Ian also handles administrative proceedings before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In addition, Ian has extensive experience representing employers in front of the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission and drafts commentaries on Civil Service decisions.

Before joining Norris, Murray, & Peloquin, LLC, in November 2021, Ian was Assistant Corporation Counsel to the City of Boston. Specifically, he worked in the Legal Advisor’s Office to the Boston Police Department. During his time with the City, he advised the Police Commissioner, Command Staff, Human Resources, and Labor Relations offices regarding employee discipline, discrimination claims, policy development, and other labor and employment matters.

Prior to joining the City of Boston, Ian’s law practice focused on personal and commercial liability, insurance coverage, complex medical malpractice, professional liability matters, and criminal defense.
