Here are some additional directions to places where we may need to appear with clients. Please consult with the attorney assigned to your case beforehand to verify whether or not your attendance is required, as well as other parties who may need to attend.

To the Division of Administrative Law Appeals/Bureau of Special Education Appeals

[Directions →] Most appeal hearings are held in the Boston offices located at on the 11th floor. The offices are above the Government Center Garage, located between New Sudbury, New Chardon and Congress Streets. Entrances to the parking garage are in New Sudbury (across from the JFK Federal Building) and New Chardon (across from the Edward W. Brooke Courthouse) streets. The Bureau of Special Education Appeals also holds hearings in Worcester. Please confirm the appropriate location on the hearing notice.

To the Department of Labor Relations

In Boston, the Department of Labor Relations, which houses the JLMC and CERB (what used to be LRC and BCA) is accessed through the walk-in entrance to the Division of Unemployment Assistance which is on the Government Center side of 19 Staniford Street (i.e., not the Staniford Street side). Security is very tight, and you should expect to show a picture ID, and remove all metal objects from your person before going through the metal detector. Tell the guard you are going to the Department of Labor Relations, and you will be given a temporary ID/Visitor’s Pass. Head straight back from the front door and follow the hallway as it turns right. The DLR is at the end of the hallway.

To the Civil Service Commission
One Ashburton Place, Boston, MA 02108 (Room 503) [Directions →] The Civil Service Commission offices are located at One Ashburton Place not too far from the State House. Once inside, take the elevator to the fifth floor and find room 504. Inside the door, there will be a waiting area with a sign-in sheet. There are two hearing rooms, one to the left and one down the hall to the right. There is also a conference room in the back office where pre-hearing conferences are generally held. Make sure you have checked the hearing notice beforehand, as some Civil Service Hearings are held at the Division of Administrative Law Appeals.

To the American Arbitration Association
One Center Plaza, Boston, MA 02108 (Suite 300) [Directions →] Most arbitrations happen at the client’s location, but occasionally they are held in Boston at the Regional Offices of the AAA. If the notice specifies Boston, check with counsel in advance to ensure that there has not been a change.

To the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination
