On June 5, 2020, Commissioner Riley and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released guidance on key safety supplies that school districts should secure to prepare for the eventual reopening of school facilities in the fall. According to the guidance, some of these items may be harder to procure and/or have longer delivery times than usual. The document provides specific information to help districts and schools make these purchases as soon as possible, and details the support that DESE and partner state agencies can provide to assist with the acquisition of these items.
